“Joan McCarthy Lasonde’s years of dedication and hard work on behalf of foster children and the underprivileged prove she is exactly the kind of independent leader we need in the State Senate fighting for our families. With Joan in Springfield, all our families win. That is why I am endorsing Joan and I ask you to join me in supporting her. Please vote for Joan Lasonde for State Senate on Tuesday, November 6th.”
Joan McCarthy Lasonde, candidate for State Senate, has been awarded the “Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate” distinction, for standing up for gun violence prevention and recognizing gun safety. (This organization does not endorse.)
A Board Member of the Illinois State Crime Commission, and a mom of three, one of whom is a DCFS foster child, Joan has seen the devastating impact gun violence has on its victims and surviving family members. Like others, Joan is broken-hearted over school shootings and other senseless deaths, and she has always supported efforts to keep our neighbors, students and communities safer. This includes supporting criminal background checks on gun sales to keep guns out of the hands of felons, domestic abusers and people with dangerous histories.
“Our members support the candidates who support small business, and Joan McCarthy Lasonde has shown us that she understands the challenges facing Illinois’ job creators,” NFIB Illinois State Director Mark Grant said. “Joan McCarthy Lasonde will fight to create and maintain an environment where small businesses can grow and create jobs.”
