REDUCE PROPERTY TAXES
Property taxes are forcing our families, friends, and neighbors out of Illinois to states with lower taxes and better opportunities.
Illinois has the highest property taxes in the country.
We also lead the nation in the number of people leaving our state.
One resident leaves Illinois every five minutes.
Illinois has the highest property taxes in the country, which is not surprising as we have more units of local government than all the other states. Illinois has almost 7,000 units of local government, that’s 1,300 more than the next state. It is no surprise we lead the nation in the number of people leaving Illinois, as over 33,000 people left in 2017.
As your State Senator, I will fight for true property tax relief for all Illinois families.
We can lower the property taxes by giving local governments more control of their costs, such as removing unfunded mandates and regulations forced on them by my opponent Laura Fine and her fellow insider politicians in Springfield. Doing so will allow local governments to spend more on our children’s education and services for our families.
